If you are currently on active duty or have served during any of the eligible war eras as shown below and were honorably discharged, you’re eligible to become a Legionnaire! Place of service is not material– the dates and character of service are.
We invite you to join our Post now. Membership in The American Legion includes many benefits. For a complete list of benefits, see the National Headquarters web site. Membership in “The American Legion” is open to all US veterans who served at least one day of honorable active federal service during any of the following periods:
- World War I 4/6/17 – 11/11/18
- World War II 12/7/41 – 12/31/46
- Korea 6/25/50 – 1/31/55
- Vietnam 2/28/61 – 5/7/75
- Grenada, Lebanon 8/24/82 – 7/31/84
- Panama 12/20/89 – 1/31/90
- Persian Gulf 8/2/90 – Cessation of hostilities as determined by the US Government
